Mailing Lists

All mailing lists are addressed with @lists.ncsu.edu following the name of the list.

You must have specific privileges to send to any of these lists, and that is granted by ecehelp@ncsu.edu based on specific parameters for each list, or the message is held for moderation and acted upon based on its relevancy.

If you are a member of a list and you send to it, you will not get a copy of the message as Google filters out duplication (including if you send to overlapping lists).

Membership of most of the lists is automated based on relevant roles, via one of two campus tools; Listminder (denoted with a #) or Persona (denoted with an *).

Faculty Lists

  • ece-faculty — includes the memberships of ALL of the lists below. #
    • ece-adjunct — all Adjunct Assistant Professors, Adjunct Associate Professors, Adjunct Professors, and visiting scholars/faculty.*
    • ece-affiliated — non ECE faculty that we’ve chosen to list an association with. #
    • ece-emeritus — all emeritus faculty*
    • ece-profs — includes the memberships of ALL of the lists below (so basically, all researchers and teachers).*
      • ece-research-profs — Research Assistant Profs, Research Associate Profs, and Research Profs.*
      • ece-teach-profs — Lecturers, Teaching Assistant Profs, Teaching Associate Professors, and Teaching Professors.  *
      • ece-practice-profs — Professors of the Practice *
      • ece-tenure — includes all members of the lists below (tenure track)*
        • ece-assist-profs — tenure track Assistant Professors*
        • ece-assoc-profs — tenure track Associate Professors*
        • ece-full-profs — tenure track Professors *

Staff Lists

  • ece-staff — includes the memberships of these lists below. *
    • ece-spa-staff — includes all ECE SHRA staff *
    • ece-epa-staff — includes all ECE EHRA staff (NOT including PostDocs) *
    • ece-temp-staff — includes all ECE Temp staff *
    • ece-postdocs — all ECE postdoctoral researchers *
    • ece-center-staff — all staff (EHRA/SHRA/temp/PostDoc) in ASSIST, CLAWS and FREEDM *
    • ece-dept-staff — all standard departmental staff (admin, academic, IT/Ops, MarComm) *
  • ece-studentworkers — all student employees (hourly, not RA/TA) on ECE payroll #
  • ece-ras — all research assistant graduate students #

Undergraduate Lists

Anyone wishing to send to any of these lists should contact the Undergrad Office (ece-undergrad@ncsu.edu)

  • ece-ugrad — all undergraduate students in an ECE curriculum.*
  • ece-ugrad-efy — all undergraduate students in the EEU or CPU curriculum (folks will also appear in -fr/-soph/-jr/-sr)*
  • ece-ugrad-soph — sophomores*
  • ece-ugrad-jr — juniors*
  • ece-ugrad-sr — seniors*

Graduate Lists

Anyone wishing to send to any of these lists should contact the Graduate Office (ecegradoffice@ncsu.edu)

  • ece-grad — all graduate students in an ECE curriculum. *
  • ece-grad-ms — masters students *
  • ece-grad-phd — phd students *

Student Org Mailing

ECE-affiliated student organizations are, at the prerogative of the department, given access for up to two of their officers to email the ece-students@lists.ncsu.edu list directly. This is predicated on a) the officer(s) being ECE students; b) emails only being sent from an individual’s account (no organization generic accounts); and c) only being sent to the ece-students lists (none of the lists below).
Please limit your emails to the list as students do not have the option to unsubscribe. Access will be revoked if abused.

Building Lists

Should your NC State Directory information include your office location — specifically, a building must be selected from the pulldown — you will be automatically subscribed to the appropriate list.
