Achieving promotion and tenure mark significant milestones for the faculty at NC State. Promotion assigns a new rank for faculty members, and tenure acknowledges notable career accomplishments and promotes the academic freedom of the faculty.
Our faculty support NC State’s mission by fulfilling their calling to teach and lead in and outside the classroom and lab,” said Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden. “We remain committed to supporting their career success, which in turn creates a world-class academic atmosphere on campus.”
Promoted and tenured faculty continue to create a legacy that makes the university a premier higher education institution where people from all over the world come to research, teach, learn and serve.
“Each faculty member who achieves senior rank or an award of permanent tenure is strengthening NC State’s academic reputation,” said Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Katharine Stewart. “What they accomplish here reaches far beyond the lab or classroom by affecting what they and their students go on to achieve in the community.”
