We are proud to announce that this week, Dr. Ewan Pritchard, Associate Director of FREEDMSystems Center and the Advanced Transportation Energy Center (ATEC) has formally been appointed to serve on the NC GreenPower Board for another three years. Dr. Pritchard was appointed by NC Utilities Commission and nominated for the position by Ken Dulaney.
NC GreenPower is a program that connects individuals to renewable energy and carbon offset projects. Donations of as little as $4 monthly are used to subsidize the cost of a new and innovative projects. The program bridges the gap between those who are unable to develop their own projects and those who require additional financial support through their incentive program. They work to aid different projects that contribute to North Carolina’s power supply and improve energy efficiency for all North Carolinians.
Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, NC GreenPower is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit improving our state’s environment by supporting renewable energy, carbon offset projects and providing grants for solar installations at K-12 schools. Dr. Pritchard has been involved with the transportation industry since 1997 with his work on electric vehicles at Advanced Energy Corporation. He left Advanced Energy for a short time to work with GKN Automotive on driveline solutions before returning to Advanced Energy Corporation to tackle plug-in hybrids. He began a program to transform the school bus industry to plug-in hybrids in 2002. Since then he has worked with numerous vehicle companies and organizations to develop electric and plug-in platforms to reduce environmental emissions and fuel consumption.
Dr. Pritchard continues to lead in the initiative towards providing our communities with cleaner energy, both at NC State and across North Carolina.
