Check Your enrollment time & Access Your Portal
Check MyPack Portal to view your enrollment date and ensure you have no holds on your account. Graduate students do not need advisor approval to enroll. If you have a financial hold, please contact the University Cashier’s Office via email to clear it before registering for classes.
The best way to contact the Cashier’s Office is through their email.
Spring 2027 ECE Grad Course Request Form (Coming Soon)
If you are unable to enroll directly in an ECE course through the enrollment wizard, please submit a Course Enrollment Request form.
- Requests are reviewed on a rolling basis; however, enrollment may not be immediate as priority is given to ECE students. Depending on course availability, final processing for non-ECE majors may take until the first week of classes.
- If we attempt to enroll you but find a conflict (such as being over the credit limit or having a time conflict), we will reach out to ask if you are still interested in the course. Otherwise, you will simply be enrolled automatically.
Enrollment Restrictions
Course Load Limit Exceeded: Graduate students are limited to a maximum of 13 credits per semester.
Instructor Permission Required: Some ECE courses require Department approval. Please find instructions on how to enroll below.
- Contact the instructor for permission.
- Forward the instructor’s approval email to ecegradoffice@ncsu.edu with your Studetn ID number
- The graduate office will enroll you once received.
The ECE department does not strictly enforce prerequisites. If you are blocked by a prerequisite restriction, please follow the instructor permission required instructions.
Online (EOL) Enrollment Restrictions
- On-campus students are not permitted to enroll in EOL courses. You must register for on-campus sections.
- Master’s students are not permitted to enroll in EOL courses while participating in a remote internship.
- PhD students who are not local may enroll in EOL courses. However, if you do not already hold an MS degree, you should be enrolled in the online MS degree track.
If you would like to review the difference in tuition and fee rates between online and on-campus programs, please visit the University Cashier’s Tuition Page.
Registration After Census Day
This final day to add, drop, or swap courses with a tuition adjustment is the Census Day (the 10th day of the term)
The ECE Graduate Office will not modify student schedules after Census Day. If you must add or enroll in a course at this point, you must complete and submit a Schedule Revision Request directly through MyPack Portal. Please note that late schedule changes may incur additional fees.
Auditing a Course (Signature Form Required)
To request to audit a graduate course, please download and complete the Audit Request Form from the Letters & forms page.
