Calling all hardware enthusiasts!
Do your students have loads of creative ideas and a tabletop full of Arduinos and Raspberry Pis? Are they looking for an opportunity to show off a fun project they’re building? Hackster.io is hosting the 6th annual China-US Young Maker Competition semi-final contest, inviting students to showcase their engineering skills by creating an open source hardware application that solves an important social or livelihood problem.
The contest is free to join, open to anyone aged 18-40 and has no hardware, cloud or software restrictions – anything is possible! Document the project using Hackster’s custom project builder and submit to the contest page. A panel of judges from Hackster and Google’s Coral team will hand-select winners to receive a Google Pixelbook, Google Coral dev boards, Adafruit gift cards, $500 VISA gift cards and Hackster swag bags. The top ten teams will then virtually present their projects to a panel of global judges, competing against the top Chinese teams for an additional $60,000 in cash prizes!
Competitors from years past can attest to how exciting the opportunity was for them:
“The US-China Young Maker Competition was an incredible chance to present my project to an international audience and interact with the best and brightest people in China. I met US/Chinese diplomats, students from Chinese universities, and makers from all across the United States!”- Alex Wulff (Finalist)
“It was the biggest event in my life. Never thought I would present my project to so many honorable judges.”- Contest Finalist
The contest ends July 1st so be sure to share with your students today! For questions about this opportunity, contact contests@hackster.io.
