Learn about the upcoming Fall 2021 program. Some information for you about Namibia WAO:
- Namibia WAO is a fall semester study-abroad program for which students receive a minimum of 12 hours of course credit.
- Namibia WAO is a purpose-driven experience. Students conduct anti-poaching and wildlife research in Namibia’s African savanna. The program tends to appeal to students who have an interest in helping protect the environment and who enjoy problem solving.
- The program compliments the academic experiences that students receive in their degree programs.
- Namibia is a very safe, English-speaking country, second in Africa in inhabiting high-value endangered species (elephants, rhinos, leopards, and so on), and has a dry temperate climate (great weather).
- For the student, there is no additional cost to participate in the program and, with the assistance of the student’s undergraduate adviser, the student can work on ensuring that the program does not prolong his or her time to degree.
- For the undergraduate adviser, if you want to learn more about how to advise students who are potentially interested in the program or if you just would like to learn more about the program, please contact me at lmsilver@ncsu.edu and we can set up a time to talk.
