1887 Fellows is a cohort experience hosted by New Student Programs for new students that creates a foundation for success in their first semester.
New Fellows become part of the 1887 community and are launched into a variety of experiences that support their growth as they navigate their transition to NC State, including:
- 1887 Fellows Retreat
- Goal Coaching with professional staff from across the institution
- Weekly 1887 Socials
- As a result of completing the program requirements, students will receive a $150.00 gift card to the NC State Bookstores to assist in the purchase of textbooks in the fall semester.
The application is open now and we will continue to accept applications on a rolling basis until the program is full. Students can learn more and apply via go.ncsu.edu/1887Fellows. Our fall cohorts aim to serve over 50 incoming first year students and students. More details regarding our spring cohort, which supports Spring Connect students is forthcoming.
Additionally, if you have interest in serving as one of our 1887 Fellows coaches, please respond to this email and I’m happy to share more about the opportunity:
- Each coach will work with 3-4 Fellows for 1 semester
- Coaches will be provided training and support or coaching
- Participation would require 20-25 hours across the semester
