Exams & Milestones
Please plan to formally schedule any exams at least 2 weeks in advance!
The information below details how to schedule exams with The Graduate School and The ECE Graduate Office.
Master’s Thesis students: Prelim and Final Exam
Before scheduling any Preliminary or Final Exams, you must complete the following:
- Committee Setup: An approved committee in the MyPack Portal
- Degree Audit: A completed degree audit
- Exam scheduling: All exam forms must be completed at least 2 weeks in advance. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Doctoral students: Qualifying Review Exam
Ensure you are enrolled in ECE 834 in the semester you plan to take your qualifying exam.
To initiate the Qualifying Review exam scheduling process, students must email the ECE Graduate office within 5 business days with the following information:
- Student’s Name
- 9-digit student ID number
- Date of the Exam
- ·Name of Committee Chair/Committee Members and email addresses
An exam form will be sent to your committee within 1-3 business days.
Doctoral students: Please review The Graduate School ETD Webpage thoroughly before reaching out with questions regarding the final oral exam.
Before scheduling any Preliminary or Final Exams, you must complete the following:
- Committee Setup: Ensure your graduate committee is officially formed and approved, and determine the date and time of your oral exam.
- Degree Audit: Your degree audit must be complete.
- Qualifying Review: You must have successfully passed your Qualifying Review Exam.
- Exam scheduling: Determine the date and time of your oral exam and submit exam forms at least 2 weeks in advance to the ecegradoffice@ncsu.edu.
When the items above are completed, a “Schedule Exam” button will appear on your committee page in MyPack
