Classroom Reservations

To reserve space in an academic classroom, please fill out and submit the Room Reservation Request form.

For Student Orgs: https://studentservices.ncsu.edu/your-resources/reserve-a-classroom/

Registration and Records only reserves university classrooms (designated as “110” spaces).

Useful directions/tips for requesting a classroom reservation:

• Use your Unity ID and password to log into the Astra system.
• Access the “Events” tab in the top left-hand corner and click “Request Event”. From the dropdown menu, select “TERM YEAR – Student Organizations”, or for faculty/staff, “TERM YEAR – Department/College”
• Use an @ncsu.edu address as a contact for your request.
• Reservations will be confirmed for the current semester only.

‘Submit Request/Processing Begins’ date does not mean to expect a confirmation that day. Initially, please allow up to five business days for a response. After the first week of processing, requesters should be notified within one to two business days.

Tips:

• If you know the exact room you’re looking for, list that in the notes.
• If you submit your request with only 1-2 business days prior to your event, email eventsscheduler@ncsu to notify them.
  • It’s suggested to submit requests with ample amount of time. Beginning of the semester is a peak time for them and responses are typically delayed.
• If you have questions about your request or haven’t heard back in over a week, email eventsscheduler@ncsu.

For more information, consult University Scheduling, including the date and time, purpose, and number of seats needed (bearing in mind that if you want students to sit in every-other-seat, you’ll need to adjust your numbers accordingly). Specify if you need a certain style of room (movable tables/chairs, lecture rooms, etc), projector display, laptop hookup, and if food/drink will be provided in the room. Note that this only applies to university classrooms (designated as “110” spaces), see below for other kinds of space.

Any requests for course room, schedule, or exam changes should be directed first to your department’s Scheduling Officer (see list here).

Exterior Space

If you need to reserve exterior space for an event on or around NC State campuses, please consult the Space Reservation Directory.

Outdoor spaces on Centennial Campus (including the EB2 Breezeway, the EB2 Oval, and the MRC Plaza) are managed by the NC State Real Estate office and must be requested using the form.

The Oval Lawn is a popular outdoor venue shared by Engineering departments, campus partners, and external users. It is divided into three terraces—Northern, Middle, and Southern—divided by brick pathways.

Note that there is limited power available on the south end, and that facilities must be contacted to mark irrigation lines prior to use of any tent stakes. Additionally, the EB2 Breezeway is the fire lane to access that space, so must be kept clear for vehicles at all times.

College Spaces

Research 2

Research 2 contains two different meeting rooms that can be reserved through the campus Google Calendar. Anyone with an NC State email can add the room to a calendar appointment. It will automatically decline overlapping appointments.

106 Research2 (RE2-106-ENGR): seats 8 around the table. No technology present in the room.
207 Research2 (RE2-207-ENGR): seats 10 around the table, and can accomodate another 8 guests. Projector / screen provided for your laptop — only accessible via HDMI cable (provided in conference table).

EB2 Atriums

The following rooms in our buildings are not officially controlled by the department and must be reserved via the College of Engineering by completing the form below:

• EB2 West Atrium (EB2-West-Atrium)
• EB2 East Atrium (EB2-East-Atrium)

Lactation Rooms

NC State University promotes work/life balance and supports working parents with the transition back to work following the birth of a child. This includes support of nursing mothers who wish to express breast milk periodically during the work day.

Campus Spaces

The following spaces are available for reservation on NC State campuses by ECE. Note that most must be reserved by staff, faculty, or registered student organization officers. There is no charge generally for most of these spaces, however that will vary based on the space owners and is subject to change at any time.

As these spaces are not owned by ECE, be respectful of the managing units—in all circumstances the owning unit takes priority.
