This course is for Credit only, not for a Letter Grade. You will receive a S/U Grade. ECE 650 is a course that requires an internship with a company or organization outside NCSU. It is intended for non-thesis Master’s students and can only be taken once. An approved plan of work is required before enrolling in ECE 650. Only 3 credit hours of S/U courses can be included in the plan of work for non-thesis Master’s students. During the semester of the internship, you will be responsible for registering and paying tuition for ECE 650 and COP 500 and will be considered a full-time student. International students will also have to complete Curriculum Practical Training (CPT) paperwork. At the end of the internship, you will be responsible for submitting a work report and meeting with your advisor. International students may enroll in this course in their last semester. Criteria to be used to evaluate the student’s performance: A meeting with the ADGP to discuss the required written two-page report documenting your internship, which includes: i) A description of your job activities and responsibilities. If this is not your first work semester, describe only your new activities or how you have expanded your responsibilities. ii) The relation of your co‐op experience to your academic studies. iii) The most and least satisfying aspects of your co‐op experience. A student self assessment will be completed during the meeting that addresses the student’s attitude towards work, ability to learn, initiative, quality of work, quantity of work, teamwork, and communication skills.
