Graduate Student Mental Health Discussion Group

A Graduate student mental health discussion group will be facilitated by Cody Zane (Mental Health Ambassador) and Maggie Johnston (Co-Advisor of Mental Health Ambassador Program)

Where: College of Textiles Convocation Center (Room  2309)

When: Tuesday, October 9th, 2018

What: A small group discussion about mental health in graduate school.  What can be done to forestall/counter/prevent mental health issues. DISCLAIMER: This is not a group therapy session but it will be a safe space for students to share stories if they feel comfortable sharing.

How: Students should email Cody Zane (cpzane@ncsu.edu), with the Subject Title “Graduate Student Mental Health Discussion”, to put their name on the list.  It’s on a first email, first serve basis and there will be a maximum of 15 people. A group email will be sent out to those who are accepted to the group a week before the event. If there is a large number of people who would like to discuss Graduate Student Mental Health a second group discussion may be formed on a different date.  Why: For any reason: feeling particularly passionate about spreading awareness about mental health issues, wanting to help other graduate students find their way through mental health issues, personally dealing with some mental health issues, wanting to learn tactics to counter those feelings and see that you are not alone in having these feelings.
