Using a temporary vehicle?
If you have a temporary vehicle (rental, car in shop, spouse, etc) you can add that vehicle’s license plate on the Transportation Parking portal. Note that you may not have two vehicles parked that are on the same account at the same time—ticketing and scanning is automatic based on plate readers—you will be ticketed.
Phone # to report parking violators
As traffic increases, more and more folks are noting various parking issues on campus (blocking crosswalks, in fire lanes, etc.).
To report a parking violator to the Transportation Office, Monday-Friday 7am-midnight, please call Transportation directly at 515-2210, during other hours, please call campus police dispatch at 515-3000.
Special Events
If you have a large special event on campus, please use the Special Event form to set up special parking.
Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations
There are two charging locations in the Partners Way Parking Deck and two in the Oval West Parking Desk, in addition to others on Centennial campus. To see a map of the approximate locations on Centennial Campus, you can use either the Centennial Campus 3D map or download the map of Charging Stations.
To park at one of the locations on Centennial Campus, a valid NCSU parking permit is required and there is a four hour limit (to keep them available to others.) There are two methods which can be used to charge your electric vehicle:
- A chargepoint card – obtain by registering at chargepoint.com OR
- ChargePoint Mobile App (iPhone or Android)
Questions? Please contact Antony Wambui, NCSU Transportation, Transportation Planner, amwambui@ncsu.edu
Have some general questions about the charging stations on Centennial Campus? Watch a recording of the Town Hall we held in April on the right.
If you have other questions, problems with any of the stations or other feedback, please send that in to Brian Jones. Brian is interested in any feedback you may have about your experience with the charging stations.
Want to know where else in Raleigh (or the country) where you can charge your vehicle? Try the Department of Energy website for registered locations (but be sure to check if the station you are interested in is listed as open to the public)
