Housekeeping

The following explains the housekeeping practices for the various spaces.

Note that labs and offices contain a “Special Attention” door hanger. The reverse of this contains the schedule for that space’s cleaning.

Additionally, this should be hung on the outside of the door in the event that beyond-the-schedule services are needed. DO NOT FORGET to attach a post-it note with the specific service you’re requesting.

Offices

Cleaned once monthly:

  • trash/recycling emptied (leaving additional bags in the cans if tenant needs to take out trash before the next visit; trash can go to a common area like the hallway containers)
  • vacuumed
  • dusting of open areas

Classrooms

  • Cleaned nightly (vacuuming, wiping down desks, etc)
  • Whiteboards cleaned twice weekly in the classrooms

Break Rooms

Cleaned nightly (sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, etc)

Conference Rooms

Cleaned nightly (vacuuming, wiping down tables, etc)

Labs

Cleaned weekly (sweep/mop floors, empty trash)

Student Labs / Group Areas

Cleaned weekly (sweep/mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, etc). Please note that Housekeepers will not empty the small trashcans under each student desk — students are expected to empty these into the large trashcans inside or just outside of their offices.

Restrooms

Cleaned daily (cleaning of all fixtures, sweeping/mopping, restocking of
supplies, etc)
