Pilot Program: ECE Proposal Intake Form

As we work to enhance research administration services, we are implementing new tools and processes to streamline proposal submissions. Also, we are teaming up with the ECE IT team to develop new electronic solutions to improve the efficiency of proposal processing. For this to be successful, we need your support, collaboration, and feedback.

Key Updates:

  • Advance Notice Requirement: A 13-business day notice is required before the sponsor deadline to allow sufficient time for ECE review, feedback, and approval by COE. (5 days ECE, 8 days COE=13 business days)
  • ECE Proposal Intake Form: Initial notification to ECE Pre-Award regarding a proposal submission is requested via the ECE Proposal Intake Form. Please use this link: ECE Proposal Intake Form Link. No other form of communication (including Email or PINS routing) will be considered notification. The ECE Director will assign a Research Administrator to facilitate the proposal, and the administrator will make initial contact with you and create the PINS record.
  • Collaborative Proposals: If your proposal involves multiple departments or external organizations, please notify us well in advance of the 13 business day deadline to allow time for required documentation.
  • Notices of Intent: Submit as early as possible and no later than 13 business days before the submission deadline.

These changes aim to set clear expectations and standardize key research administration functions. We appreciate your cooperation and welcome any feedback as we implement these updates.
