Students can check if they are eligible by <strong class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/grad.ncsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/GSSP_Student-View.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"\">Checking their GSSP status<\/a>.<\/strong> Project number and amount must go in the &#8220;Supervisor Comments&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For ECE\/ASSIST\/CLAWS\/ICONS\/FREEDM:<\/strong>&nbsp;Specify this on the online&nbsp;hiring&nbsp;request form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For Power America:<\/strong>&nbsp;Email your HR Rep with the student&#8217;s name, ID #, project number, and the amount to be paid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Important:<\/strong>&nbsp;State funds cannot be used for tuition or fees. Please review the rules regarding support for RAs appointed at 0.25 FTE.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Crucial Information on GSSP Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-white-background-color has-background\"><mark style=\"background-color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Census Day is the Final Cutoff:<\/strong>\u00a0Any GRA whose appointment is not fully processed by Census Day will forfeit their GSSP tuition remission and health insurance for the entire Fall semester. The student or the PI will be responsible for these costs.<\/mark><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Health Insurance:<\/strong>&nbsp;Students must be&nbsp;hired&nbsp;before census, to activate their&nbsp;Spring&nbsp;health insurance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Appointment Length:<\/strong>&nbsp;All GRA appointments must extend through the end of the semester. If a student&#8217;s appointment is terminated early, their tuition benefits will be prorated, and they will be billed for the difference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Hourly Students:<\/strong>&nbsp;For hourly student workers, please use the separate&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/app.smartsheet.com\/b\/form\/dd6366e3e1cd4c9f856586b5575177da\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hourly Student Worker Appointment Request Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Graduated Students:<\/strong>\u00a0<mark style=\"background-color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color has-gray-90-color\">Once a student graduates, they are no longer eligible for student employment (RA or hourly).<\/mark><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please email ece-assistantships@ncsu.edu with any questions.
