The following explains the housekeeping practices for the various spaces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that labs and offices contain a “Special Attention” door hanger. This should be hung on the outside of the door in the event that beyond-the-schedule services are needed. DO NOT FORGET<\/strong> to attach a post-it note with the specific service you’re requesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For general facilities requests such as: lights out, water leaks, electrical outlets not working, clogged toilets, door locks not working properly, etc. please email ecehelp@ncsu.edu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cleaned once monthly: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • It is highly recommended you throw any food items away in the large trash cans in the hallways; these are emptied daily. This will greatly reduce the likelihood of pests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • If you do fill your trash can before the monthly service, please empty your bag into one of the bins in the hallway. If you need empty trash bags, please email ecehelp@ncsu.edu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • If your office requires vacuuming or a wipe down, write a note and place the door hanger on the outside handle of the door. If you don’t have a door hanger, please email ecehelp@ncsu.edu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • If there is a spill, leak, lights out, strange sound, etc. please let us know by emailing ecehelp@ncsu.edu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Classrooms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Cleaned nightly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Vacuum and wipe down desks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Break Rooms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Trash cans are emptied daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Conference Rooms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      • If you have an event in one of the conference rooms please restore the room to the way you found it. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • If crumbs have fallen on the floor or the room needs attention, please let us know at ecehelp@ncsu.edu so that we an give Housekeeping a heads up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Please do not rewire, unhook, or alter the cables to the TV, Kaptivo, Apple TV, or network in any way. Refer to the instructions on the table, or email ecehelp@ncsu.edu for questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Labs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Cleaned weekly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Sweep and mop floors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Empty trash.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Pallets and packing supplies must be taken to the dumpster for disposal. Housekeeping staff does not have the ability to remove these from the building. Packing material should go in the dumpster while pallets go beside the dumpster.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • If you would like Housekeeping to dispose of your card board boxes, you must break them down and leave them next to the recycling bin in the hallway. They will not take boxes unless they are broken down.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Student Offices \/ Group Areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          Cleaned weekly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • Sweep and mop, vacuum, and empty trash. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Please note, Housekeepers will not empty the small trashcans under each student desk — students are expected to empty these into the large trash cans in the hallways. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Restrooms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
