{"id":2858,"date":"2024-05-28T14:11:50","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T18:11:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.ece.ncsu.edu\/communications\/?p=2858"},"modified":"2024-07-25T20:33:39","modified_gmt":"2024-07-26T00:33:39","slug":"set-work-location-on-calendar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/my.ece.ncsu.edu\/communications\/2024\/set-work-location-on-calendar\/","title":{"rendered":"Set Work Location on Calendar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add your working location<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On your computer, open\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Calendar<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create an all-day event.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/calendar\/answer\/72143?hl=en&amp;co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop#zippy=%2Ccreate-an-all-day-event\">Learn how to create an all-day event<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the event window that appears, select\u00a0<strong>Working location<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: Adjust the dates that you want to add a working location to.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select\u00a0a location\u00a0or create a new one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click<strong>\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip:\u00a0<\/strong>You can also add a working location when you point below a date on your calendar grid and click the \u201cAdd location\u201d bar that appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Edit your working location for one day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important:&nbsp;<\/strong>When your calendar is shared with someone with free or busy visibility, they can view your availability and working location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On your computer, open\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Calendar<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Below a specific date on your calendar grid, click the location bar.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you click on the starting location, click Edit working location\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/support-kms-prod\/uolfeZyyN5asXBZrE0tJr1MxHrJbcvysG0w1\" alt=\"Edit task\">.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To adjust the date range, click on each date.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a location or create a new one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose a frequency, and then click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add your working location for part of a day<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On your computer, open\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Calendar<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click an empty space on your calendar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the top of the event, click\u00a0<strong>Working location<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the time and date you want to add a working location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optional: Make your working location repeat.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the day and time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next to &#8220;Does not repeat,&#8221; click the Down arrow\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"auto\" height=\"18 px\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/uSM1WAyJPHhLEEJu9DClOxayx6mNNJ5pmlDbmNcokQTVVM2ZeN4QeoeVA2VX2IZ-Dg=w24\" alt=\"Dropdown\">.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose how often you want the event to repeat and end.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose a location or add a new one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After you create a working location for part of your day, you can drag it to another date or time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can set your working location to repeat.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/calendar\/answer\/37115\">Learn how to make an existing event repeat<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Show when you\u2019re out of office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you indicate that you\u2019re out of office, your calendar will automatically decline all meetings during that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On your computer, open\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.google.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Calendar<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the top of your calendar, click the first date you\u2019ll be out of the office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Out of office<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the dates that you\u2019ll be out of the office.
